Allison Hoke, LGPC

Allison (they/them) is a licensed graduate professional counselor. Allison believes that clients are their own greatest resource when working through life’s challenges. They believe that through exploration and skills-building, clients can develop greater resilience, and a deeper connection with themselves and their communities.

Allison enjoys working with adults, couples, and polyamorous relationships from a trauma-informed, social justice lens. As a trans and queer therapist, Allison has a strong passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Allison’s other specialties include anxiety and stress management, trauma recovery, navigating life transitions, communication hurdles, parental/family-of-origin estrangement and conflict, relationship challenges, and gender affirming services.

Allison is a D.C. transplant originally from Missouri. They received their B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Missouri - Columbia and their M.S. in Clinical Counseling from Central Methodist University. They are an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist. Prior to studying counseling, Allison worked as a cook at several Columbia, Missouri restaurants and still maintains a strong passion for diverse, local cuisine.

Outside of counseling and cooking, Allison enjoys going on long walks with their dog, playing video games, reading nonfiction and horror fiction, and exploring D.C. sights and restaurants with their partner.
