At our practice we emphasize providing opportunities for therapists in training – it is one way we work to ensure that therapists are able to enter the field to provide high quality care and decrease the mental health provider shortage.

Program Structure

Our internship is based on the apprenticeship model of learning. Interns will spend the first 3-4 weeks of the program exclusively observing sessions. Once interns ave completed their session observations and have gotten exposure to real life counseling practices, they will begin to do cotherapy and take on cases with a staff therapist and/or more experienced intern. Once fully trained, interns will begin to take cases independently.

What will you do as a clinical intern?

  • Perform supervised individual, couple, family, and group counseling in an in-person and virtual environment

  • Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation via our electronic recordkeeping system

  • Commit to a regular schedule with enough hours to complete your internship requirements.

  • Participate in weekly group supervision with the entire practice as well as weekly individual supervision.

  • Take consultation calls

  • Perform other related tasks that are a part of the practice’s operations, such as assisting with responsing to client inquiries
